I recently upgraded my setup to an AM5 platform while keeping my old AM4 components. My main system drive is an NVMe M.2, and I have four SATA SSDs connected. However, when I try to add a second M.2 drive (which is SATA, not NVMe), it doesn't show up at all in either the BIOS or Windows. When I tested the drive in my son's computer, it worked perfectly. I'm wondering if there might be a conflict with the SATA drives or PCI lanes since my motherboard is supposed to support multiple M.2 and SATA drives. Here's a quick rundown of my specs: ASUS TUF B850 Plus Wifi, Ryzen 9700x, Kingston Fury 2x32 GB DDR5 6000 MT/s. Any help would be appreciated!

Just a heads up, I remember having to enable certain slots for my setup as well. Look for anything related to PCIe configuration in the BIOS—sometimes it’s hidden under various menus.
You might also need to enable the second M.2 slot in the BIOS settings. Some motherboards have it disabled by default, so navigating to the onboard devices configuration could be key.
Make sure to check your motherboard manual for any lane sharing issues. Sometimes the M.2 slots can get disabled if certain SATA ports are in use. It could be a shared lane situation where you can use either an M.2 or a specific SATA port, but not both.
