Why is my top-tier PC lagging in Fortnite?

Hey everyone! I'm having a frustrating issue with my brand new gaming rig while playing Fortnite. Even with settings cranked down to ultra low and performance mode on, I'm experiencing constant microstutters. My frame rates drop drastically from 300-200 FPS down to around 50 for a split second, making it pretty unbearable to play. Here are my specs: Ryzen 7 9800X3D (no OC/UV), 32GB of 6000MHz DDR5 RAM, a Gigabyte B850 Aorus Elite WiFi 7 motherboard, Steel Legend 9070 XT GPU, 1000W Seasonic Focus GX 3 PSU, and a 2TB Samsung 990 Evo Pro SSD. I've also done several clean installs of Windows 11.

I've gone through a ton of troubleshooting steps including a clean boot, BIOS updates, driver installations, reseating components, and even adjusting power settings, but nothing has worked. I've kept an eye on my temperatures too; they never go above 80 degrees on the CPU and are okay for the GPU as well. Any ideas on what else I can try? This is my first build and it feels like I'm hitting a wall. Would really appreciate any help!

You could also look into potential background processes that might be hogging performance. Sometimes, little things like USB devices or Windows features can create conflicts. Just something to consider!

Have you made sure to run a few games to let Fortnite finish shader compilation? It can be a bit of a pain sometimes, and the game really doesn’t handle that well. Also, check your mouse's polling rate. If it’s set to 1000Hz, it might cause issues with the game. Lowering it could help!

I tried the 1000Hz polling rate. Doesn’t seem to be the issue here.
