Why is My Upgraded PC Performing Worse?

I recently upgraded my PC from an i7 3770 with a GT 1030 to a Ryzen 5 2600 paired with an RX 5500 XT 4GB. Ever since the upgrade, I've been experiencing frequent crashes in both games and the general system. I reset my PC, which seemed to improve stability slightly, but I'm still facing sudden closures in some games and apps. What could be the cause of these issues?

Is your power supply unit (PSU) adequate for your new setup? Also, did you do a fresh install of Windows or just a reset? A clean install is usually necessary after significant hardware changes to avoid driver conflicts.

It sounds like you might be having driver issues. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your GPU and CPU. Sometimes, a missing driver can lead to these kinds of problems, even if you think you’ve installed everything.

If you did a fresh Windows install, that should generally help. But just turning on the PC after all the upgrades can sometimes create driver clashes. Make sure everything—the CPU, GPU, and any other hardware—are correctly integrated and updated.

Check if you have an AMD motherboard instead of an Intel one. If that's the case, go to the manufacturer’s website to download the latest motherboard drivers. Don't forget to check your RAM and BIOS version while you're in the BIOS menu; it might help you troubleshoot further.
