Why is my WiFi extender causing issues with Steam and desktop connectivity?

Hey everyone! I recently set up a WiFi range extender, but I'm running into a weird problem. Even though I can access Google just fine, both Steam and my desktop refuse to recognize that I'm actually connected to the internet. Everything was working perfectly before I connected the extender. Just to add, I'm on the latest Fedora KDE spin. Any ideas on what might be going wrong?

It sounds like there might be an issue with your routing table. When you run `route -n` on the extender's network, do you see any entries? If not, that could explain why your connection seems off. You might want to check what `ifconfig` or `ip addr` shows when you're connected to the extender vs. your original network. Let’s see if you have an IP assigned on the extender!

Just checked, and it seems like I do have an IP when connected to the extender, but I’m not sure what to do next. Any further steps you suggest?

Honestly, I've always thought those WiFi extenders were a bit of a scam. I tried one and found that my router's signal was actually stronger than what the extender provided. But if you're in a camper, I get how any extra boost could help!

Yeah, definitely! Living in a metal box like a camper, anything that can pick up the signal is a lifesaver.
