Why is my Windows 10 hard drive losing space unexpectedly?

I've noticed that my hard drive space is shrinking daily without any clear reason. I've run a full malware scan and found nothing wrong, and my system isn't creating any restore points. I've also checked for temporary files and hibernation settings, but they only account for about 11-12 GB, which can't explain the loss. Does anyone have tips on how to diagnose or fix this issue?

Just because you ran a full scan doesn't guarantee you're malware-free. You might want to use some tools to look into what files are taking up space. Programs like WinDirStat can help you visualize your folder sizes and pinpoint what's growing over time. Also, keep an eye on apps like Steam, as they can download and store tons of data without you realizing it.

You might have a faulty driver or an application that's generating error logs nonstop, causing space to dwindle. It's a good idea to check your event logs for any hints about what's going wrong. If you suspect a specific driver is the issue, you can try updating or rolling back the driver in Device Manager.
