I recently set up a Jieshuo X99-JS11 motherboard with a Xeon 2682 v4 processor. However, when I power on the PC, it's only recognizing 6 cores and 12 threads instead of the expected 16 cores and 32 threads. I've checked MSCONFIG and Task Manager, and both show only 12 threads. I even adjusted the core settings in the BIOS to 16, but that didn't change anything. CPU-Z also confirms just 6 cores and 12 threads. Does anyone know what might be wrong and how I can fix this?

Is this a new Windows installation? If so, consider resetting your BIOS settings to see if that resolves the issue.
If you have a Linux live USB stick handy, try booting from that. It might help you determine if the CPU is functioning correctly there.
Could you share a screenshot from your CPU-Z? It might give us more insight into what's happening. By the way, where did you buy the CPU? There's a chance you might have been sold a different model, or maybe the BIOS on the motherboard was tampered with.
Funny enough, when I checked the **Device Manager**, it lists 32 items under the 'Processor' tab, matching the number of threads it should have. What gives? [https://prnt.sc/YJfF2bxXRXzs](https://prnt.sc/YJfF2bxXRXzs).

It's possible they misled you. I can confirm the model **2682 v4** is stamped on the CPU itself, and it appears correctly in CPU-Z, as you can see here: [https://imgur.com/a/Tw9nVGw](https://imgur.com/a/Tw9nVGw).
