Why is only my C drive restoring during system image recovery?

I recently backed up both my C and D drives to an external hard drive before formatting my laptop for unrelated reasons. Now that I'm trying to restore my laptop using the system image recovery, I'm facing an issue: only my C drive is being restored, while my D drive seems to be ignored. Can anyone help with this?

Yeah, the system recovery tends to focus on restoring Windows and applications on the C drive. If you had files installed on D, they might not come back automatically. Just check your external hard drive to see if there's a backup of the D drive, and you can restore those files from there.

It sounds like the system image recovery primarily restores the Windows installation from your C drive, which includes your apps. However, your D drive might not have been set up to back up in the same way. If your files were stored there, they should still be safe on the external drive, but you'd need to copy them back manually after the recovery.
