I'm currently in the process of cleaning up my drives and I noticed something strange: a 3KB file is reportedly using up 76GB on my C Drive due to Steam's 'httpcache'. I've tried various methods to reduce this space but nothing seems to work. Clearing the cache hasn't made a difference, even though I've done it several times. Has anyone else experienced this issue, and what can I do to resolve it?

First off, how did you figure out that Steam has taken up 76GB on your drive? Did you use a specific tool to analyze your disk space?
If you have a lot of games or large downloads queued in Steam, it might be reserving that space in advance. Try clearing your download queue and then delete the cache again to see if that helps.
It sounds like there might be an issue with how Windows is handling allocated space. Try closing Steam completely, then navigate to C:Program Files (x86)Steamappcachehttpcache and manually delete the files eating up that 75GB. After that, run a disk check on your C Drive to reclaim the space. Go to the properties of the drive, click the Tools tab, and select 'Check'. If it prompts you to restart for a proper scan, go ahead and do that.
