Why is Terraria dropping to 30 FPS on my gaming PC?

I recently built a gaming PC about three years ago with an Intel i5-11400f CPU, an NVIDIA RTX 3060, and 16GB of DDR4 RAM. Until now, it has performed flawlessly, maintaining 60 FPS even on resource-heavy games like Skyrim and Apex Legends at high settings. However, I've noticed that the frame rate has dramatically dropped to around 30 FPS while playing Terraria, even when I set all the graphics to minimum. I've only recently cleaned up my storage, but I'm unsure what else I can do for fixes. Any suggestions would be really helpful!

First off, I'd check your CPU and GPU temperatures. Sometimes, overheating can cause major performance drops. If your thermal paste isn’t working well anymore, that might be a clue too!

My CPU temp is about 45°C after running for a while, but I can't find the GPU temp in the BIOS.
