I just installed Windows 11 on a brand new PC, and I'm facing an issue that's driving me a bit nuts. In Windows 10, when I dragged files from one folder to another, it would either move them or overwrite them if they had the same name. But now, whenever I try to move my photo files, Windows 11 just copies them instead. So, I end up with duplicates in the original folder. I'm wondering if this has anything to do with OneDrive or if there's another reason for this issue. Has anyone else experienced this?

Here’s a link with more info on the move vs copy options in Windows Explorer: [Move vs Copy](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/4000798/move-vs-copy-on-file-explorer-how-do-i-default-the)!
If you're dragging files to another drive, that will copy the files. But if you're on the same drive and it still copies, you might need to right-click and drag to get the option to move instead. The feature is similar between Windows 10 and 11.
Another option is to right-click while dragging, and you'll see a menu that gives you the choice to move, which should resolve your issue.
Try using the cut and paste method instead of dragging them. That should move your files without creating copies.
It's normal for a single drive setup. If you're moving across folders within the same drive, it should move the files. If you're still seeing both the original and copied, you might have to check your drag-and-drop settings or use the right-click menu while dragging!
