I just built my first PC, using some old components, and I'm having trouble with the audio. When I try to play a video, there's no sound, even though I've turned up the volume all the way. The system seems to recognize that it's connected to the monitor's speakers, but I still can't hear anything. I've followed a bunch of tutorials that suggest checking the device manager, updating drivers, and troubleshooting, but nothing has worked. I'm running Windows 11 Pro on an MSI motherboard, and I've also adjusted the sound settings in the monitor's BIOS. Can anyone help me fix this? I really need this setup to work for streaming!

It sounds like your monitor might not actually have built-in speakers. Even if it shows up as an audio device through HDMI or DisplayPort, many monitors lack speakers. Try connecting some external speakers directly to the audio jack on your motherboard. Then, make sure to set your motherboard's audio output as the default in the sound settings. If your monitor does have speakers, double-check the volume settings on the monitor itself—it could just be turned down or muted.
Have you checked if the monitor volume is turned up? It’s also possible that your audio drivers might be messed up. Make sure to go into the sound settings and select the correct output device. Sometimes, Windows doesn’t choose the right one automatically.
