Hey everyone, I recently bought a new Amazon Basics monitor so I can have dual displays alongside my existing AOC monitor. My AOC doesn't have a DisplayPort, but the new monitor does. I'm trying to set it up using HDMI for one monitor and DisplayPort for the new one, but the DisplayPort monitor isn't getting any signal from my GPU. I've already tried a bunch of solutions, like powering everything down completely, using different cables, tweaking BIOS settings, checking connections, and even trying two brand new DisplayPort cables. I'm pretty sure the monitor works because it displays fine with an HDMI connection. It feels like the DisplayPort might be disabled on my GPU or something. Any suggestions would be super helpful! Here's my setup:
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX6600 MECH 2x
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G
- RAM: 32GB 3200MHz DDR4
- PSU: Can't remember, but it's definitely sufficient.

First off, have you checked if your monitor is recognized in the Display settings of Windows? Sometimes it just needs a little nudge to detect the new setup.
What version of DisplayPort is your monitor set to? If you can adjust it in the settings, maybe that will fix the issue.
I looked it up, and it should be set to 1.2, but I can't find a way to change it in the monitor settings.
Make sure to dive into your monitor’s menu and manually select the input port. Sometimes, it doesn’t auto-detect which port to use, like HDMI1 or DP. Also, did you try pressing Windows Key + P and choosing the display settings? It might need to be extended or duplicated.
I did try setting it to DP manually and also used WIN + P, but still no luck.
Have you considered a crazy idea like getting a new computer? Just throwing it out there!
Lol, no, but that's an interesting suggestion!
No, it's not being detected.
