I've got this HP work laptop that I've used for a few years without any problems. Recently, though, it stopped charging when I have it on, even when I plug in the charger. Oddly, it does start charging when the laptop goes into sleep mode (the orange light comes on). I've tried switching outlets and messing with the software settings, but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have a good solution for this? Thanks a lot!

Does it charge fine when the laptop is completely off? If not, your battery could be failing. I've seen situations where batteries lose their charging capability, especially if they're constantly plugged in. Also, check your BIOS settings and see if the battery settings might be causing this issue. A Windows update can sometimes mess with the drivers too!
You might want to consider trying a different charger if you haven't already. Sometimes the charger itself can be the issue. Make sure it's compatible with your laptop model too!
I've actually tried that, still no luck.

Yes, it charges up to 100% when the laptop is either turned off or in sleep mode.
