Why isn’t my new 180Hz monitor displaying the correct refresh rate?

Hi folks! I recently got my hands on an ARZOPA 2K 180Hz monitor, but I'm running into a problem. After hooking it up to my PC, which is running Windows 10, it only shows a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. I'm using a DisplayPort (DP) cable for the connection. Any thoughts on how I can fix this?

First off, what graphics card are you using? Knowing that will help narrow down the issue. If you don’t have a dedicated GPU and are using integrated graphics, that might be the problem. 180Hz usually requires a decent graphics card to handle it.

I actually don’t have a separate GPU. My setup runs on an Intel Core i3-4160.

Have you checked the monitor's manual? I hear that some settings might not be available online. For instance, it could be defaulting to an older DisplayPort version, like 1.1 or 1.2. Make sure it’s set to at least 1.4 to manage that 180Hz output. Also, look for any overclock settings in the monitor’s menu; it could require that to reach higher refresh rates.
