Why Isn’t My RTX 3090 Being Detected After a Restart?

Hey folks, I need some help with a weird issue I'm having with my Gigabyte RTX 3090 Vision OC. I was just testing an old game when my PC unexpectedly restarted. After that, the monitor went blank, and I couldn't get it to show any display. When I switched to the integrated graphics on my motherboard, I discovered that Windows didn't recognize my GPU at all. I went into safe mode and used DDU to uninstall the drivers, but when I tried to reinstall them, the Nvidia installer told me it couldn't find any Nvidia graphics card in my system. There was no noise or burning smell when the restart happened, and my Corsair RM1000e power supply is more than sufficient for this setup. My motherboard (MSI Pro Z690-A DDR4) isn't showing any issues on the debug LED either. This issue seems to coincide with some Nvidia driver problems recently. Is it plausible for drivers to actually "fry" a GPU? I'm on the January drivers and Windows 11 version 23H2, and neither the GPU nor CPU has ever been overclocked. I'm really hoping my GPU isn't dead, and I'll be taking it to a repair service shortly. If they manage to fix it, what drivers do you think are the most stable? I've heard about some earlier versions like 566.36 or 566.14. Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Definitely make sure it's not shorted. It’s worth getting a multimeter to check that out. If you're still having trouble, you may want to consider the possibility that the BIOS could be corrupted, as you mentioned.

I’d suggest reseating the card first. Just pop it out and put it back in to see if that helps. If that doesn’t work, you might need to check it with a multimeter to see if it’s shorted or having any power issues.
