I've been using an application called Dimmer to help with my sensitive eyes by reducing my screen brightness beyond the default settings. It worked fine until recently, allowing me to play games in borderless windowed mode without issues. However, today it stopped dimming my screen while focusing on games, even in borderless windowed mode, although it still dims in windowed mode. I think it might be related to a graphics driver update I did last night. Additionally, I've noticed that windows opened via alt+tab or pop-ups don't dim either while the rest do. I'm looking for a way to make the dimming effect apply to everything, including games and pop-ups. Any suggestions?

It sounds like the update could have affected how Dimmer interacts with your graphics settings. You mentioned trying DisplayFusion too, but if you have the setting to exclude full-screen windows off, it's strange that it won't dim even in borderless mode. Have you tried running Dimmer as an administrator? That might give it the permission it needs to override other apps.
Have you checked if there's an option in the app to dim pop-ups or other windows? Sometimes the issue arises because the dimming app gets overshadowed by the game's window. I use DisplayFusion for dimming, which might be worth exploring if Dimmer isn't working out for you. Also, try adjusting the order of windows if that's a possibility!
