Why isn’t my Thunderbolt monitor’s camera recognized by Zoom?

I've been using my Thunderbolt monitor's camera for Zoom calls for about 5 years without any issues, but suddenly it's not being recognized. When I try to test the camera on various websites, it says no camera is found. This monitor is around 10 years old, and I suspect that a recent OS update may have caused this problem. Has anyone experienced this issue or have any ideas on how to fix it?

I would check which browser you're using. Sometimes, certain browsers have issues detecting older hardware like webcams. Have you tried using Photo Booth or FaceTime to see if they recognize the camera? That might help diagnose the problem.

Darn, sounds frustrating! If you've tried different browsers like Safari and Chrome without luck, it really could be the OS update. Sometimes older devices just don’t play nice with newer software. You might want to see if there are any driver updates available for your monitor.
