Why isn’t my WiFi adapter detecting the 5 GHz hotspot from my Pixel 10?

Hi everyone! I'm a new user of the Pixel 10, and I'm running into a frustrating issue. I switched over from a Poco F5 and recently bought an Asus USB-AX56 WiFi adapter, since my old TP-Link 2.4 GHz one started acting up. I thought I'd upgrade to better performance. Initially with my Poco F5, I had a workaround where I'd toggle Airplane mode on and off to make my 5 GHz hotspot visible to the adapter. However, now that I have the Pixel 10, that trick isn't working anymore. I've tried various troubleshooting steps—I've switched USB ports, used a USB 3.0 extension cable, and adjusted both adapter and phone settings without any luck. There's a suggestion I found about manually setting the 5 GHz channel to 144, but I can't find that option in the device manager or anywhere on my Pixel 10. Other devices can see my hotspot, and I can see my neighbors' 5 GHz connections, so it seems isolated to my setup. If anyone has any suggestions or knows how I can set the 5 GHz channel, I'd really appreciate your help as my hotspot is my only internet source for my PC, and 2.4 GHz just isn't cutting it. Also, while USB tethering works, it can be a hassle to keep my phone connected. Thanks for any advice!

I downloaded inSSIDer, but I'm stuck in an initialization loop because it says there’s no connected WiFi adapter, even though I'm using a 2.4 GHz hotspot. I checked, and the Pixel 10 doesn't have that WiFi 6 setting. It seems like my previous phone, the Poco F5, had it available. Pretty frustrating!

Have you tried using a WiFi analyzer tool like inSSIDer? It can help you see what's going on with your connections. Also, make sure that your hotspot settings have the 'support WiFi 6 standard' option enabled on your phone, if possible.
