Why won’t Linux Mint recognize my Wi-Fi networks?

I'm trying out Linux Mint from a USB drive, and while everything worked smoothly, I noticed that it can't find any Wi-Fi networks. This has left me unable to connect to the internet. I'm curious to know if this issue will persist if I decide to fully switch to Linux Mint or if it's just a minor glitch.

If you’re asking whether the Wi-Fi issue will continue in Linux Mint, it probably will. What kind of Wi-Fi adapter are you using? You might need to download and install a specific driver to get it working properly.

Is your computer even detecting Wi-Fi? Sometimes, Wi-Fi adapters other than Intel can be hit or miss with Linux. It might be worth doing a quick search like "[your Wi-Fi adapter model] Linux issues" to see if others have faced similar problems.

I've only had Wi-Fi problems on Mint once, and using an ethernet cable to connect and install the necessary drivers fixed it right up. Out of about ten different laptops, it was a rare issue for me.
