I'm having an issue where my ASUS monitor won't wake up after going blank due to power saving settings, while my HP monitor wakes up just fine. My PC seems to think the ASUS display is still on since I can interact with it (moving my mouse and windows over to it) but the screen remains dark. I've checked in the settings, and everything looks normal. Just a bit of background: I'm using Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS with a Radeon R9 285 GPU, the ASUS monitor is connected through a KVM switch via HDMI, and the HP monitor through the same switch using HDMI as well. Are there any troubleshooting tips for this?

Sounds frustrating! It seems like the ASUS monitor might have an issue with the signal after being turned off. You could try changing the cable connection or port to see if it helps. Sometimes HDMI handshakes can be a bit finicky with KVM switches. Also, check if there's any firmware update available for your monitor that might resolve this issue.
Another thing to consider is your power management settings. Sometimes, changing the settings or disabling power saving for the display can make a difference. You might want to try that in the system settings and see if it helps the ASUS come back to life after sleeping.
Great tip! I’ll look into that. It’s worth a shot if it could solve the problem.
Thanks! I’ll try switching the cables and check for updates. I’ve noticed occasional issues with HDMI and KVMs before.
