I'm having trouble with my iPad battery. It only shows a red icon and doesn't register as charging. The iPad has started to shut down randomly, and it's only a year old. I have tried restarting it, and when I asked Siri, it told me I'm still 95% charged. Any ideas on what's going on?

I just found out from Apple that my battery was ruined after I had a power outage while studying. They ran some diagnostics, and it turns out the discharge affected it badly. Make sure you back up your notes, just in case you end up needing to replace it!
It sounds like there might be a hardware issue, especially since it's only a year old. Did you check how old the iPad really is? Sometimes it could be a faulty battery that needs replacement if it's malfunctioning like this.
That's really strange! Usually, you can see the battery status in the top right corner. It might be worth sharing a screenshot to get more help, but if it's just showing red, there's likely something seriously wrong.
