I recently had my laptop screen replaced, and now it won't sleep when I close the lid. I've checked the settings, and both the plugged-in and unplugged options are toggled on for sleep. I reached out to the technician, and they suggested it might just be a settings issue, saying their work shouldn't have affected that. However, I suspect they might have messed up a sensor or something. I'm looking for a second opinion on this because I don't think the tech will offer any more help.

From what you've described, it seems like there might be a sensor that got disconnected or misaligned during the screen replacement. Typically, they wouldn't have changed any settings simply because they installed a new screen.
There’s a magnetic sensor that should trigger when the lid is about 95% closed. If the magnets aren’t positioned correctly or if something was disconnected during the repair, your laptop won’t know the lid is closed. You should look up the Hall-effect sensor for your model to confirm it’s there and consider bringing this up with the technician to get it fixed.
It sounds like it could be a sensor issue if your settings are correct. Have you checked the group policy settings? Make sure they are actually applied as expected.
