I'm having trouble fitting my new motherboard into my case because the holes don't line up with the standoffs. I'm not sure if this is due to the I/O shield or something else. The new motherboard is supposed to be the same size as my previous one. Any advice on how to fix this?

Standoffs can usually be removed and rearranged unless you have a particularly cheap case or a prebuilt setup. Make sure to not power on your computer if any of the standoffs are touching the motherboard—this could damage it!

I don’t get why my old ATX motherboard fit perfectly, though. What’s different now?
