Why Won’t My New PC Start Up Properly?

I just built a new PC, and I'm having some trouble getting it to start up correctly. When I flip the switch on the power supply, the motherboard RGB lights and the CPU liquid cooling screen turn on immediately, but nothing else works. The GPU, the fans, and the RAM RGB lights don't turn on, and unfortunately, there's no display on my monitor either. This is only the second PC I've built, so I'm still learning. Can anyone help me figure out what's going wrong? Here's the setup: Asus ROG Strix B650E-F, AMD Ryzen 9 9900X, GeForce RTX 5070, 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5, Samsung 990 Pro SSD 2TB, Sama SM360 CPU Cooler, Be Quiet 12 M 850W power supply, and Foifkin case.

It sounds like there's power to the system, but you still need to hit the power button to actually turn everything on. The RGB lights can come on without the PC being fully booted. Once it's on, you can probably adjust RGB settings in the BIOS and through the software for your cooler.

Yeah, I've pressed the power button, but nothing shows on my monitor, making it impossible to get into the BIOS.

Have you checked your front panel I/O connections on the motherboard? They need to be plugged in correctly for the power button to work as it should.

I've reconnected them twice, but still no luck. Finding a tutorial for my exact components has been tough!

I’m a bit confused here. Are you saying you haven't properly turned your PC on? Just flipping the power supply switch won't do it; you need to hit the power button on the case.

I did hit the power button, but there’s still nothing on the monitor and no fan activity.

Have you made sure your BIOS is updated? If you're running an outdated version, the B650 board might not recognize the 9900X properly, which could be causing your issues.

Unfortunately, I can’t access the BIOS due to no display on my monitor.

The RGB lights can light up just from power but don’t mean the PC is actually on. Did you confirm that the system is fully powered up? And by the way, that parts combo seems a bit off—any reason you went with that setup?

I’ve tried turning it on fully, but still nothing on the monitor or spinning fans. What’s wrong with my part choices?
