I'm having a frustrating issue where my PC powers up—the lights and fans turn on—but it just doesn't boot properly when the display cable is plugged into the GPU. The peripherals and display don't respond if the cable is connected. However, if I restart the PC with the display cable unplugged and then plug it back in, everything works fine after booting up. Here's my hardware setup: I'm using an Intel i5-12600KF CPU, an NVIDIA 3080 GPU, an MSI Z690 Pro motherboard, and a Corsair 850W PSU. Since the 12600KF lacks integrated graphics, I can't boot without the GPU. Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated! EDIT: A BIOS reset and update fixed the problem!

Have you tried plugging the display cable into different ports on both the GPU and your monitor? It might also help to switch to a different type of cable, like using an HDMI instead of DisplayPort, just to see if that makes a difference.
Sounds like a tricky situation! It might be worth ensuring that your GPU is seated correctly in the PCI-E slot. Sometimes, a loose connection can cause these kinds of issues, so make sure it's firmly in place.
Check the debug LED indicators on your motherboard. Refer to the manual to find out where it's located. If it's getting stuck at the VGA error, it suggests that the motherboard isn't detecting the GPU properly.
