Why won’t my PC boot with the new RTX 5060 graphics card?

I recently built a gaming PC and initially used a 6650 XT. After swapping it out for an RTX 5060, I encountered a problem. The system powers on and everything looks normal at first, but after the initial restart, it fails to boot. The fans run, but there's no video output, and my keyboard remains unresponsive. However, if I clear the CMOS and put the old GPU back in, the system boots fine with the new GPU. Also, if I let it sleep instead of turning it off, I run into issues. My motherboard is a Gigabyte A520M DS3VH2 REV 1.0. Any ideas on what could be going wrong?

Have you tried switching to a different PCIe slot? Also, make sure to clean out any old drivers from the previous graphics card. Resetting the BIOS to default settings might also help.

I'm going to try that! I'll make sure to do a clean installation of the drivers too. Thanks for the advice!

I feel a bit silly, but I actually solved it! After using DDU to remove the old AMD drivers and reinstalling the Nvidia drivers, everything is working perfectly now. No more black screens on boot. Thanks a ton for your help!

Anyone else having similar issues? I'm struggling here too.

What power supply do you have? Sometimes, the wattage or compatibility could be causing issues with the new graphics card.

It's an MSI MAG 650W A650.
