Why won’t my PC turn on after cleaning it?

This morning, my PC was functioning perfectly while I was using Chrome. I decided to shut it down to clean inside. After carefully cleaning the CPU fan and organizing the wires, I reconnected everything as it was. However, when I attempted to power it on, nothing happened at all. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this?

Try this: unplug everything – the keyboard, monitor, USB devices – and then hold down the power button for about 30 seconds. After that, plug the monitor, keyboard, and mouse back in and see if it boots up. This helps clear any static buildup that may be causing issues.

If absolutely nothing is happening when you try to turn it on, take a good look at the connections running from the front controls to the motherboard. Sometimes those can get loose during cleaning.

I checked those connections, and they seem fine, but I’ll look again just to be sure.

It sounds like you might not have reconnected everything properly. Double-check your connections, especially the power cables. It can be easy to overlook something small.

How exactly did you clean the CPU fan and wires? Be careful around the components, especially if they were still powered on – that can cause problems!

Make sure to clarify how you cleaned the internals. Did you discharge any static before handling components? It's essential to avoid damaging sensitive parts. Also, check that the CPU fan is spinning freely and wasn't obstructed during the cleaning process.
