Why won’t my smart TV switch inputs with my gaming console connected?

I'm having an issue with my smart TV where it doesn't switch inputs when I plug in my video game console using an HDMI cable. This was working fine before, but now the screen keeps flashing and doesn't switch properly. I've tried connecting different consoles, but the problem persists. Has anyone experienced something similar? I'm wondering if it could be the HDMI cable or if there's another solution to this issue.

What type of gaming console are you using? Sometimes certain consoles have specific issues with certain TV models.

This happened to my Samsung TV when the internal memory was low. You might want to check for any available software updates or clear out some space. Also, keep in mind that HDMI cables can wear out over time, so that might be a factor too.

If you're using a bunch of cheap HDMI cables, try replacing it with a high-quality one. Sometimes those inexpensive cables just don’t hold up, and it could be causing the issue.

It sounds like your HDMI connection might be loose or faulty. Definitely consider buying a new, decent cable. It's usually not too costly, and it could solve your problem!
