Why won’t my system boot to the NVME after reinstalling Windows?

I'm trying to reinstall Windows 11 on my NVME M.2 drive, but I'm running into a frustrating issue. After the installation completes and the system reboots, instead of loading Windows, it just goes straight to the BIOS. This has happened before on a similar setup about three years ago, so I'm not sure what to do. I make sure to use a USB to install Windows, and I remove the USB after the installation finishes. Here's what I've tried so far:

1. Ensured that BIOS is set to boot in UEFI mode.
2. Deleted and formatted partitions during the Windows install.
3. Verified that the NVME is set to GPT using DiskPart.
4. Experimented with Secure Boot settings, both enabled and disabled.

The NVME drive is recognized in BIOS, and I can do a self-test on it, confirming it works. However, when I press F11 to select the boot device, the NVME drive doesn't show up. There's only the USB drive connected during the installation. Anyone got any ideas?

Does your drive show up correctly in the BIOS? Double-check the settings to make sure that the mode is set to NVMe instead of SATA. Those options can sometimes be tricky!

Yeah, it does appear in BIOS, but it's not showing up when I try to select it during boot. It’s really odd!

Also, make sure your BIOS isn't running in Legacy mode; you want to stick with UEFI for that NVME.
