I recently went out of town and took my laptop and earbuds with me, both fully charged. After leaving them in my room for three days, I returned to find that my laptop was completely dead, which was puzzling since I thought I had left it charged. I even tried using my earbuds, but they're dead too. It just seems unusual for both devices to lose their entire charge in such a short time. I went through some toll plazas on my way home, but I can't figure out how that could impact my devices. Any ideas?

Windows has this annoying issue with a 'wakelock' where it can randomly turn itself back on from sleep or hibernation, leading to unwanted battery drain. I've had my Surface 4 Pro overheat because of it! If your earbuds got bumped and connected to your laptop, they might’ve drained too.
Cold temperatures can really sap battery life fast! Was your room particularly cold when you got home? That could explain the rapid drain on your devices.
I mean, it could always be aliens messing with your devices! Just kidding, but it's funny to think about. 😂 Maybe consider checking your settings or keeping an eye on the temperature next time!
It sounds like your sleep settings might not be configured properly. If your laptop wasn’t actually turning off and was, for some reason, still running in sleep mode, that could definitely cause the battery to drain more quickly than expected. Also, you know, entropy could be a factor here! 😂
