Will a 650W PSU Be Sufficient for an RTX 5070 Upgrade?

I'm thinking about upgrading my graphics card from an RX 6600 XT to an RTX 5070 since I found a good deal, 50 bucks under MSRP. However, I'm a bit concerned about whether my current 650W power supply can handle the new GPU. PCPartPicker suggests my whole build needs around 505W, but I've read varying advice on how much extra wattage is needed for power spikes – some say 20%, others 40%. Here's my build for reference: [https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jmm24p].

Yes, a 650W PSU should be sufficient for the RTX 5070. You’ll have enough headroom even for some power spikes.

Absolutely, 650W is enough power for the 5070. The GPU doesn’t have huge spikes in power demand, generally around 300W even during transient moments.

Yes, it looks like your 650W PSU will do the job just fine! Just double-check that you have the right connectors for the new GPU.

I think 650W is on the lower end for a more stable build, but it’s workable. Some people recommend going for 750W for better peace of mind, especially if you plan on overclocking or adding more components later.

True, but the TDP for the 5070 is around 250W, so it should be fine unless you’re doing heavy loads.

Yeah, but 650W is the minimum recommended for the 5070. It should handle it unless you're really pushing the system.
