I'm considering pairing a 9700X CPU with an RTX 5080 GPU for gaming on my 1440p 165Hz monitor. I'm curious if this combination will lead to a CPU bottleneck during gameplay. What are your thoughts?

There's always a theoretical bottleneck, but really, just enjoy your games. This combo is solid, and with 1440p gaming, you don't have to stress about it too much. Everything should run smoothly!

Nope, you shouldn't worry about a bottleneck here. The 9700X is a strong CPU, and pairing it with the RTX 5080—one of the latest GPUs—should be just fine. Plus, at 1440p, most of the workload shifts to the GPU, so you're all set!.

It should work well, but if you're looking to squeeze out the best performance, consider a 7800X3D instead. It might give you a bit more headroom, especially with demanding titles.

If you're going for an RTX 5080, you might as well just get a 7800X3D or even a 9800X3D to future-proof yourself a bit more. But honestly, the 9700X will still handle things pretty well.
