Hey everyone! I just found out that my MSI B450 A PRO MAX motherboard only supports PCIe 3.0, and I'm concerned it might restrict the performance of my RTX 5070 Ti, especially compared to the potential of PCIe 5.0. My current setup includes a Ryzen 7 5700X3D processor and 32GB of RAM running at 3200MHz, and I mostly game at 1440p. Can anyone share insights on how much performance I might be missing out on with this setup?

You really shouldn’t stress too much about it! The performance loss on a PCIe 3.0 setup with your graphics card is only about 1 to 3 percent, which is pretty minimal. You’ll still be able to enjoy gaming without much impact.
From what I've seen, only specific models like the 8GB 5060 cards really show a noticeable drop in performance when using PCIe 3.0 due to bandwidth limitations. Most GPUs, including yours, should handle things pretty well without a significant slowdown.
For higher-end cards like the 5090, there’s only about a 4% performance drop when using PCIe 3.0 instead of 5.0. So with your 5070 Ti, you probably won’t see any major issues in real-world gaming.
Just check your motherboard manual to ensure your GPU is running on the full 16 lanes. As long as that's set correctly, your performance should be just fine with PCIe 3.0.

Thanks for clarifying that! I wasn't sure if I needed to upgrade my motherboard or GPU.
