Will a PCIe 5.0 GPU Work Well on a PCIe 4.0 Motherboard?

I'm considering getting a 9060 XT with 8GB, but my motherboard only supports PCIe 4.0. Will I lose performance by using it on a 4.0 motherboard? If so, how significant will that performance drop be?

Generally, you won't see much difference even with high-end cards like the 5090, so I doubt you'd notice any performance loss with the 9060 XT on a PCIe 4.0 motherboard. Most benchmarks show it's not a big deal at all for that card.

I disagree, though. The RX 9060 XT can experience a performance drop of up to 50% on older PCIe slots, especially compared to the top cards.
