Hey everyone! I hope you're all having a great day. I recently upgraded my system and went with AM5, picking up a Ryzen 5 7600X. I know AM6 is set to come out sometime soon, so I'm curious—will AM5 still be a solid choice once AM6 hits the market? I might want to move to a Ryzen 9 CPU in the future, but I'm wondering if I should just stick with what I have now or wait a bit longer for the AM6 components. Would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks a ton!

Definitely! AM4 is still holding strong, and by all accounts, AM5 should be just fine after AM6 pops out. If you’re not gaming or doing heavy CPU tasks all the time, you’ll be fine sticking with what you have for a while. I’ve got a Ryzen 9 5900X, and honestly, I don’t feel a need to upgrade anytime soon—my system just works great!
Right? I had an old 9900K system that handled everything perfectly for a long time before I felt the need to upgrade.
Newer tech doesn’t instantly make old stuff obsolete. If you wait for every new release, you’ll never buy anything! AM5 will remain a good choice for years, especially since AM6 is at least a couple of years away. Buy what fits your needs now, and don’t stress about what’s coming next.
That’s a solid perspective! I think I’ll stick with AM5 and just see how it goes.
Totally agree! You can always upgrade later if you want, but for now, go with what works for you!
Just because a new chip drops doesn't mean you should fret about your current setup. Look at the transition from AM4 to AM5; AM4 is still very viable! Don’t let the fear of missing out hold you back—upgrade when you genuinely need it.
That’s a great way to think about it! I might just stick with what I have for now.
Yep, focus on your needs now, and don’t stress too much about what's on the horizon!
Honestly, AM6 isn’t coming out for a while, probably not until at least 2027 or later. Your Ryzen 5 7600X is going to keep you happy for a long time. Don’t sweat it too much!
Wow, I didn't realize it was that far off! I'm glad I pulled the trigger on AM5 now.
Yeah, you're in a good spot with AM5! Just make sure to keep it updated and you'll be set.
Exactly! If it’s doing everything you need, there’s no rush. I still kicked it with a Ryzen 3 for years before upgrading!
