I'm thinking about building a new PC and I'm considering pairing an RX 7800 XT with an Intel i5-13400. My main concern is whether this setup will experience any bottlenecks while gaming. Also, if I wanted to upgrade my CPU for better performance at 1440p gaming, would that actually make a significant difference? Thanks for any advice!

Honestly, upgrading your CPU for this setup probably isn't going to give you much more than what you already have. The i5-13400 should handle gaming just fine for now. Enjoy your new rig until you really feel a slowdown!
The i5-13400 will still be good in 2025. Just remember, CPU performance doesn't really change with resolution. You could even game at 4K or 8K with it if you wanted, so it should be fine for 1440p as well!
I run a 12600K, which is pretty similar to the 13400 performance-wise, and it powerfully drives my 7800 XT without any issues. You're definitely in the clear with this combo!
A better CPU can make a difference, but trust me, the i5-13400 should be solid for your needs currently.
I’m also curious if I should stick with the RX 7800 XT or grab a 4070 Super instead for 1440p gaming. Any thoughts?
