Will GPU Prices Drop After the NVIDIA Bubble Bursts?

I'm looking to upgrade my PC and I've been calculating my options. I've heard a lot about NVIDIA's stock bubble because of AI and how it's affecting GPU prices. Do you think I should wait for this bubble to burst before purchasing a new GPU? How will it impact the price of the GPUs I want?

We thought the same during the crypto crash—prices didn’t fall as much as expected. AI has already taken over the GPU market to some degree, and I believe NVIDIA will keep pushing their prices. They control a huge chunk of the market, making it hard for prices to drop.

I doubt GPU prices will drop dramatically even if the bubble bursts. The demand for AI-related GPUs is way higher compared to gaming ones, so prices are likely to remain inflated. Also, NVIDIA knows how much consumers are willing to pay, so there's little incentive for them to lower prices significantly. It's best to consider whether having a GPU sooner is worth the extra cost.

Honestly, GPU prices are pretty rough right now and they might stay that way for a while. I suggest just going for it—get what you want and enjoy your gaming! Life’s short, don’t stress over waiting for prices to drop!

If you're waiting for GPU prices to drop due to the downfall of NVIDIA's stock, you're forgetting a key point—the overall demand for GPUs shouldn't significantly decline. Even if some AI investments tank, NVIDIA might just shift focus back to gaming, keeping prices high.

From what I'm seeing, it's mainly the high-end GPUs designed for AI and machine learning that are significantly overpriced right now. Gaming GPUs aren't inflated to that extreme, and the market is more accessible compared to the earlier crypto boom. So, it might actually be a good idea to buy now if you find a decent deal.
