Will my CPU still work with bent pins?

I accidentally bent four pins on the outer edge of my CPU. I managed to realign them using a mechanical pencil, and now they look correctly positioned in their slots. Is there a chance it will still function properly?

Yeah, it’s likely to be fine. I fix pins often since I work in PC manufacturing. Just give it a go!

As long as the pins are aligned and none have snapped off, you’re good to go!

As long as those pins didn't break or bend too far, it should work just fine!

I love the trademark symbol on 'should'—classic!

If they weren't too badly damaged, you should be in the clear. I had a CPU where the outer pins were bent inward, but after I straightened them out, it worked perfectly!

There's really only one way to find out—just give it a shot!
