Will My Current Setup Support an RTX 5080?

I'm thinking of purchasing an RTX 5080 but I'm concerned about whether my current PC configuration can handle it without any major upgrades, particularly regarding the power supply. I want to avoid spending more money on other components right now since the RTX 5080 will take up my entire budget. Additionally, I'm worried about its size since I have a Sound Blaster ZXR sound card occupying the bottom slot. Here's what my setup includes:

* Intel Core i9 9900K
* Corsair Hydro Series - H115i Pro RGB
* ASUS TUF Z390-PLUS GAMING (WI-FI)
* G.Skill Aegis DDR4 2 x 16 GB 3000 MHz CAS 16
* Samsung 970 EVO Plus - 2 TB
* Be Quiet Silent Base 601 - Silver
* be quiet! Pure Power 11 - 700W - Gold

I know that my CPU might limit me in performance, but I think with the i9-9900K I shouldn't drop below 70-80 fps in most games I plan to play, which is acceptable for now. (I currently have a GTX 1080 and a 1440p screen, with plans to upgrade to 4K later.) Thanks for any guidance!

Your setup could work, but you're on the edge with that 700W PSU. System power estimators suggest a total draw of about 600W, but these newer RTX 50 series GPUs can have high transient spikes, sometimes pulling that much just for themselves. Modern ATX 3.x power supplies can handle these spikes, while older ATX 2.x versions like your Pure Power 11 might get pushed to their limits. For peace of mind, consider an 850W PSU. You might want a budget-friendly option like the Montech CENTURY II 850 if you're looking to save money.

Do you think it would be alright to use the Pure Power 11 700W for a little while to see if it triggers any reboots? I think the newer graphics cards have safety features, so I shouldn’t risk damaging it, right?
