Will My Motherboard Support My New RTX 5080 and PSU?

I'm putting together my first PC with an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, a PNY RTX 5080, and a ASUS TUF B850-E WiFi motherboard. I'm considering an ASUS ROG Strix 1000W power supply or something similar. My main concern is whether I have enough pin connections for the GPU, CPU, and the power supply to connect to the motherboard. Can everything fit and function properly?

Have you checked the specs for each component to ensure compatibility? The info is straightforward and can be found in the manuals. Your motherboard should list what power connections it needs, and the PSU documentation will show how many connections it has. If they match, you should be set!

You’re good to go! Your motherboard will accommodate any GPU and PSU. All the power connections you'll need are standardized, so you shouldn't face any issues connecting everything together.

Thank you! Good to know! I'm still super new to all this and trying to get my head around the details.

You're fine on pin count! Your B850-E has the standard 24-pin and dual 8-pin EPS connectors for your CPU. The 9800X3D only requires one of those, but using both is perfectly fine, especially since some boards prefer it. The 1000W Strix will come with a single cable for the GPU, and it has all the standard PCIe and EPS cables you need. Even an 850W would work, as the 9800X3D uses around 120W max and the 5080 peaks at about 360W. Just keep an eye on ensuring the 12V-2x6 connector is seated properly to avoid any issues.

Thanks! That's super helpful. I'm just trying to cover my bases and get advice from those more knowledgeable. Sometimes even googling stuff makes me uneasy, so I really appreciate your input!
