I'm not very computer-savvy and usually have a friend help me install hardware. I've only been gaming on two titles: Roblox and CS2. Recently, I upgraded to a 240hz 1080p monitor and want to hit 240fps in both games to make the most of this new setup. Currently, I have a build with 32GB RAM, an RTX 3080, a Ryzen 7 5800x, and a 750W power supply. To achieve my fps goal, I've ordered an RTX 5080, ASRock x870e Taichi motherboard, a Ryzen 9800x3d processor, 128GB RAM, and a 1000W power supply. I'm wondering if this setup will indeed get me to 240fps, or if there are other components I should consider. Thanks for your help!

You're definitely going overboard with this build for just CS2 and Roblox. A Ryzen 7 5800x3D would likely have been enough for both games. With your upgrades, though, you're looking at potentially pushing well beyond 400fps on CS2.
This build seems excessive for your needs! 32GB is more than enough, and be careful with RAM—going over 96GB can cause boot issues with DDR5. You might want to consider cheaper components like a B650 motherboard and an RTX 5070 Ti instead.
Could you elaborate on those booting issues with too much RAM? I haven't read much about that.
Dude, a 240hz 1080p setup is pretty wild these days! Honestly, for games like Roblox, you could have gone for a 1440p monitor and got a better balance. And 128GB RAM is totally overkill; 32GB will be fine for gaming.
I have a bit of extra cash, and I also work from this PC so speed is a plus. Could I upgrade to a 1440p or 4K monitor and still hit 240fps?
You don't actually need 128GB of RAM for gaming, 32GB is already plenty for just playing CS2 and Roblox. You'll be fine with that amount, so maybe think about returning the extra RAM you ordered.
How much RAM should I actually get? I heard that sometimes fps can be limited by RAM performance.
Honestly, you've overspent for 1080p gaming. You could’ve built a solid PC for half the cost that would still do 240Hz without a hitch. Just saying!
That’s exactly my aim, I want to hit that target fps.
Thanks! Should I keep the new CPU and GPU, or consider a cheaper option instead?
