Will My Old PC Handle Windows 11 Smoothly?

I've got an old PC that's pretty special to me since it was my first one. Here's the rundown: it has an Intel Core i3-4130 processor running at 3.40GHz, 8 GB of DDR3 RAM, and a 240 GB SSD. Currently, it's running Windows 10 without any issues. I mainly use it for studying, attending lectures, browsing, downloading, and putting together presentations. Occasionally, I do some light photo and video editing, like cutting timelines. I've even managed to run Windows 11 on a virtual machine and handled a bit of rendering with HandBrake, and it worked fine. With Windows 10 support ending soon, I'm curious if my PC can run Windows 11 smoothly without lag, considering my light usage. Should I upgrade or start fresh?

I think you'll be fine! I'm running Windows 11 on a similar old Haswell PC with an i5-4670K. It’s technically unsupported, but you can tweak some registry settings to get it to work. I went for the upgrade instead of a fresh install and haven't faced any issues. It's definitely possible, just make sure to follow some guides on how to get through the upgrade.

Yours is a 4th Gen i5. My i3 is a bit weaker, shouldn't it be slower?
