Will My PSU’s Air Intake Affect My GPU’s Thermals?

Hey everyone, I'm curious about my power supply unit (PSU) and its impact on my GPU temperatures. I have an 850 watt Lian Li Edge Gold PSU that's set to intake air from inside the case. Given that I'll be using either a 4070 Super, a 3080 Ti, or a 4070, do you think this will affect the thermals of my GPU? Should I consider changing my PSU, or is it not going to make a big difference? Also, here's a link to my setup for reference: https://imgur.com/a/sP2Bj1S

What kind of case are you using? Most cases don't allow for the PSU to be a bottom intake. But even if yours does, it won't affect GPU temps since it's not exhausting air back into the case. Honestly, if your PSU intake is warm, it’s probably because it’s all the hot air from the case, including your GPU. With a spacious case like yours and plenty of fans, I doubt it will cause any issues!

I’m planning to add 3 more fans and have an AIO with room for a 360mm radiator, so that should help! I got the TT View 71 for just 35 bucks!

You shouldn't worry about it too much. That PSU fan is quite far from your GPU, so the air intake shouldn't interfere with GPU thermals at all. Also, just a tip—make sure your RAM is in slots 2 and 4 for best performance!

Thanks for the tip!

Nah, it's all good! By the way, just so you know, a 5070 is similar to the 4070 Super and is actually better than the 3080 Ti. If you're going used, just keep an eye on prices—you might find a solid deal!

Yeah, I'm looking at a used 4070 MSI OC edition for about 420. If that doesn't work out, I might just go for a 3080 around 300.
