I'm looking to buy a motherboard that only supports PCIe 4.0, and I'm wondering if that's going to be an issue for my new RTX 5070 Ti graphics card. Will it slow down performance?

Definitely not! I could even use a PCIe 3.0 slot and not notice any major difference when gaming or using demanding applications.

No worries at all! Modern GPUs, including yours, work just fine on PCIe 4.0. You'll hardly feel any difference in performance compared to PCIe 5.0.

It’s hardly a concern. Most tests show no significant performance drop with PCIe 4.0. As long as you're not using cutting-edge tech that demands PCIe 5.0, you should be good to go.

But that's not entirely accurate. Some high-end GPUs do experience a drop in performance on lower PCIe versions, like 8% on PCIe 3.0 for a 4090.

Yeah, but for most setups, especially what you’re getting, it won’t be a huge issue. PCIe 4.0 offers great speeds.
