I'm looking into upgrading my system since it's getting a bit outdated. I've found a deal on a motherboard and I'm considering adding a Ryzen 7 9850X3D CPU and new RAM. I'm curious if the 9850X3D will bottleneck my 8GB RTX 3070 GPU and whether that GPU will fit my new motherboard. Also, I need to know if I can move my SSD from my old DDR4 motherboard to the new DDR5-compatible one, and how changing my RAM will impact my system. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Just a note: your old DDR4 RAM won’t work with the new setup, but the DDR5 will actually be an upgrade. If you play games that are more CPU-heavy, like MMOs or titles like Minecraft, you should notice a solid increase in performance. Single-player games like Elden Ring will also run smoother. Sounds like a great move to upgrade!
The Ryzen 7 9850X3D will generally be faster than your RTX 3070 can handle, so yes, there will be some bottlenecking, but honestly, it's better for the bottleneck to be with the GPU as it usually leads to smoother gameplay. As for fitting, GPUs are standardized, so your RTX 3070 will fit no problem with the new motherboard! Your SSD should also work without issues. If you're concerned about the RAM, just remember that the new DDR5 will provide better performance than your current DDR4 setup. Don't stress too much about the change; it's likely to enhance your overall experience!
Just a heads up, make sure your PSU can handle everything; I think a 750W Gold is good, but confirm! Also, the only thing you might worry about is whether your cables fit with the new parts.
That’s not exactly a bottleneck dilemma—the 3070 will still perform well, especially depending on what resolution you’re playing at. Your SSD and GPU will definitely work fine with the new setup. I'd love to know more about your old system and the games you typically play to give you more detailed feedback!
My older setup is about 3 years old with a Ryzen 7 5800X, 32GB DDR4 RAM, a 1TB NVMe SSD, and a 750W Gold PSU.

Yeah, I’ve been playing games like Valorant, Rocket League, and some racing games like Assetto Corsa. I'm looking to upgrade because I feel my system is showing its age.
