I'm using Fedora 42 with KDE Plasma, and I'm experiencing issues when running graphically demanding games like Helldivers and Crusader Kings III. After playing for about 30 minutes or longer, if I minimize the games to check other applications like Discord or Firefox, those windows appear frozen on their last visible frame, yet I can still interact with them. Has anyone faced a similar issue and found a way to resolve it? I'd prefer not to switch my desktop environment. Here are my specs:
OS: Fedora KDE 42
CPU: i7-11700k (non-overclocked)
GPU: Nvidia RTX 3070 (driver version 580.95.05)
RAM: 32GB DDR4 @ 3200MHz
Motherboard: Asus PRIME Z590-P.

Are you using Wayland or X11? This could affect how graphics are handled in KDE Plasma. Switching between the two might help solve your glitching issue.
It sounds like your system might be swapping memory to disk. Are you using zram or zswap? If you're running a lot of intensive apps, having a good swap setup could help reduce the freeze issues.
I see you're mostly running games through Steam. Just checking – could you try launching them in a different compatibility mode or using Lutris for those more demanding games? Sometimes that can make a difference.
