Worried About Potential Risks from a PowerShell Command I Ran

Hey everyone! I hope you're all doing well. Recently, I bought some budget Steam 'cracked' games online, and it asked me to run a command in PowerShell as an administrator. After doing that, I started feeling uneasy about it, so I looked it up online and came across some alarming info. To be honest, I'm really freaked out right now. Can someone explain what this command could potentially do to my PC? I've already uninstalled Steam, changed my password, and ran two antivirus scans which didn't show any issues. However, I'm still pretty anxious about the whole situation. Any insights would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! -Juin (MYS/MAS)

You actually went ahead and bought pirated games? That's a choice! Just keep in mind, it can come with risks.

Honestly, if you were willing to buy games from sketchy sources, I don’t see why you wouldn’t just pirate them outright instead! It usually seems safer than going through questionable purchases.

That PowerShell command you ran can give someone full control over your computer. Basically, you can end up with them being able to format your drive and access personal data. The command you mentioned can download something from a remote server and execute it with admin rights, so it’s pretty serious. You should definitely change all your passwords and consider a full reformat just in case.

Yikes! That sounds really risky. Disconnect your PC from the internet immediately and maybe consider formatting your hard drive to be safe.
