I'm starting a work-from-home job tomorrow, and they require me to use my own devices. I've had a similar experience before where the company provided the equipment, which makes me wary about potential invasiveness on my laptop. I do have another laptop, but I don't have the charger or the password, and it's more of a shared family device. They want me to install three MFA apps on my phone, but I can't do that right now because I'm in debt to iTunes. I'm considering setting up a virtual machine with a phone emulator to avoid letting them get into my laptop. I also need to use two screens, the phone emulator, my camera, and a headset for Zoom. Is any of this feasible?

You might want to look for used desktops; you can find pretty good ones for a couple of hundred bucks, which could serve as a dedicated machine for work. If money's really tight, you could buy a charger for your old laptop and reset its OS to make it usable again.
I wish I could do that, but I'm super low on funds. I'm not paying $200 for a $15/hr job, so I'd probably cap my spending at around $80.
