I'm currently using Lansweeper with a combination of their cloud and on-prem (classic) Starter package and we're up for renewal in August 2025. I'm finding Lansweeper excellent for reporting outdated software, but I'm struggling with the update process. While it identifies outdated applications like Chrome, there don't seem to be any pre-built update packages. My only option seems to create deployment packages manually and schedule reboots to apply those updates. Unlike Action1, which has straightforward deployment options for updates, I'm feeling like I'm missing out on some features with Lansweeper. Is there an easier way to manage software updates in Lansweeper that I'm not seeing? I admit, I'm not the best at fully utilizing software features, so I appreciate any guidance.

You're right about the management of software updates being a bit tricky with Lansweeper. It mostly focuses on reporting, and the deployment features can feel pretty limited. It's true that it lacks pre-built packages for software like Chrome, and a lot of users end up creating their own deployment packages manually. Action1 does streamline this process, so you're not alone in feeling that Lansweeper could put more emphasis on deployment. It's a big topic in the industry since various platforms handle software management differently, especially with Windows.
We use Lansweeper alongside Action1 too. Action1 is fantastic for handling updates and remote installs, while Lansweeper is great for initial deployments and gathering information on devices. It seems like you're already using them in a complementary way, which is smart! I'd definitely recommend leaning more on Action1 for updates since Lansweeper's deployment features are somewhat basic. Some people just prefer to use Lansweeper for its reporting capabilities and then rely on other tools for active management.
Exactly! We find that using Lansweeper for reporting and then a dedicated tool like PDQ Connect for application updates works really well. It sounds like you're on the right track by utilizing different tools for their strengths!
