Is It Okay to Use a Refurbished iPhone with a Non-Apple Battery?

I just got a refurbished iPhone 13, and I noticed a warning in the settings saying it can't confirm if my battery is a genuine Apple one. There's also a message suggesting that a new battery has been detected and I should restart to configure it. I suspect they switched the battery with a non-Apple one during refurbishment. Is it okay to keep using it like this? Will it cause any issues with my phone? So far, my battery life seems great, and I'm not really in a position to spend more on getting an Apple battery replacement.

It might cause some issues with battery health reporting, and it probably won't last as long as a genuine Apple battery, but it shouldn't be a huge problem immediately. I'd suggest sticking with it for now, and if you ever need a replacement down the road, consider getting an official Apple battery. Just be aware that if other parts are non-genuine, Apple could refuse repairs.

How can I spot if other parts are non-genuine?
